Robert Conway

Robert is based in Hong Kong and specialises in mid to senior level searches across compliance, legal, risk management, audit and finance. He has over 12 years’ experience in search across Europe, Australia and Asia. Since moving to Hong Kong in 2008 Robert has worked with a broad range of clients including international investment banks, corporate and retail banks, asset management and insurance firms, hedge funds, PE firms, multi-national companies and international law firms.

Robert is well regarded for his strong market knowledge and extensive regional and international network. He has partnered with numerous high calibre firms across the region, advising on appropriate recruitment strategies to identify, attract and retain the best and most suitable talent in the market.

After graduating from Leeds University in 1996 with a degree in Management Studies (Hons), Robert trained as a chartered accountant with Deloitte in London. He subsequently moved to Deutsche Bank for 2 years working within their European and UK equities division. He started his recruitment career with Michael Page in their banking division in London in 2001, before moving to Sydney, where he spent 5 years at Robert Walters running teams and conducting searches across compliance, risk management, legal and front office.

After relocating to Hong Kong in 2008 Robert joined Talent2 as their Head of Banking and Finance Practice overseeing front and middle office hiring. In 2011 he joined Taylor Root as Partner of the Hong Kong office with full responsibility for the North Asia business, before jointly establishing Winchester Search in 2013.
